【わたしの好きなうつわ vol.5】平井悠一さんの白八寸リム皿

This time, we will be introducing Yuichi Hirai 's `` White Eight-inch Rim Plate .''

There are various events in December, such as Christmas and New Year's Eve.
Maybe you invite your family and friends and have a lively house party.
A simple platter comes in handy in such situations.

Among the Japanese tableware I recently purchased, it was particularly easy to use, so I would like to share with you the appeal of the white 8-inch rim plate!

Even if you put a lot of food on it, it still has quality.

Let's eat today! When you put a lot of food on a plate, it looks impressive, but have you ever thought that it's kind of bland?

In times like these, these utensils come in handy!
It has a generous size of eight inches and a rim, so even if you serve a lot, there will naturally be some leftover space.
Whether you're serving one person at a time or adding lots of side dishes, the extra space gives it a luxurious feel and doubles the deliciousness.

Also, when we think of dishes/plates, we tend to avoid dishes with a bit of juice, but since the white 8-inch rim plate is about 2cm deep, you can also use simmered dishes with soups that are juicy. You can also leave the pasta etc. to us!
When you hear 2cm, you may think, ``Isn't it a bit shallow?'', but when you actually use it, it's actually quite deep.
Therefore, you can use it with confidence for any kind of cooking.

Antique soft white

A clean white tableware is really easy to use.
Every household must have one, right?
Mr. Hirai's white 8-inch rim plates also go well with any type of cuisine or style.
What's more, it's not just white, it has an antique texture and a nice faded texture that shows the color of the base in places, giving you a warm feeling that can only be achieved by handicrafts.

However, since it is different from a simple, pure white container, it will turn a la carte dish into a special dish even when you are busy.

This size and so light!

Many people may be concerned about the weight of large containers.
Although it has some weight due to its large size, this one is surprisingly light.
This is because Mr. Hirai uses the strong clay of Shigaraki and carefully shaves it to make it as thin and light as possible.

You won't get tired when taking it out of the cupboard or washing it by holding it with one hand, and you can easily carry it with one hand even if it's full of food.

There are many other wonderful vessels, so please take a look if you like.
